Sam has been defending the accused for more than ten years. She began her career at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office in Chicago, then moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2015.
Here, she joined the Snohomish County Public Defender Association and quickly rose from handling misdemeanors to defending against felony charges, including sex offenses. Sam has also represented clients in appellate cases and in involuntary treatment matters.
Sam has been in private criminal defense practice since 2019.
She has secured not-guilty verdicts in cases ranging from domestic violence to sex offenses and homicide. She has also created detailed mitigation packages to negotiate lenient sentences for her clients for whom trial was not a good option.
Sam is admitted to practice in federal court as well as in Washington state courts.
Sam is a compassionate and dedicated advocate, tirelessly defending clients in both low-level misdemeanors and high-profile cases. It doesn’t matter whether it's a relatively minor charge or a prosecution for one of the most serious offenses; Sam brings her extensive experience and deep commitment to every case.
